Growing up in Brazil, she was inspired by the friendly atmosphere there, which motivated her to create a project in Shanghai aimed at offering immigrants a similar sense of welcome. Xiao Sitong is a co-founder of Culture Connect and a person with wide-ranging interests! She was born in Denmark, educated in Wuhan, and spent one year in Philadelphia when she was 8 years old. The diverse cultural experiences she has have motivated her to help foreigners adapt to new cities—especially those with small immigrant populations. Philip Friedrich is a German football coach, PE teacher, and educator in Shanghai. He has been living and working there since 2013 and currently coaches at the Phoenix Football Academy as well as the Y League.
